This allows us to maximize the use of our resources on those providers who are serious about enhancing their behavioral health care delivery while providing them with cost-effective training through our unique program.

True residency training is based on the apprenticeship standard. We are not an apprenticeship. We are a viable cost-effective option for those practitioners who are:

• Unable to participate in a residency program.
• Eager to start expanding access to mental health care while receiving a year of structured support.

We do not take insurance for two reasons:

•  We would have to employ additional staff to process insurance claims. Instead of doing this, we decrease our cost and pass the savings on to patients. We can provide patients with a Superbill that they can give to their insurance provider, which may allow the patients to be reimbursed for treatment.
• More importantly, we value your privacy and the seriousness of the patient-behavioral health provider relationship. If we took insurance, the insurance companies would have access to your notes and what we discuss in sessions.

We do not offer ADHD evaluations due to the following:

• ADHD is a disorder of childhood. ADHD can be acquired in adulthood due to a traumatic brain injury (accident, stroke, surgery, etc.).
• Many psychiatric conditions can have a similar presentation to ADHD. ADHD is a diagnosis of exclusion in adults who do not have a documented diagnosis of childhood ADHD or traumatic brain injury in adulthood.
• Our limited clinical focus and the resources needed to address a disorder of childhood preclude our ability to evaluate adults who suspect they have ADHD and do not meet either of the above criteria.
